For my experimental film, I have drawn inspiration from early 'City Symphony' genre films that presented a "beating" life to the up-and-coming metropolitan cities of the 1920s.
To fight antiquity of the City Symphony genre, and to promote Lancaster as a beautiful but scarred place, I have produced 'Lancaster: A City With a Living History'. An instrumental black and white film.
I have isolated shades of red as Lancaster has deep tie to the colour through the wars of the roses and its tainted connection to the slave trade.
