People aren’t as obvious as they may seem. Body language and facial expressions can hint at someone’s thoughts or feelings. But what if it is a facade? The art of deception is something that humans have mastered and used to their advantage. In my work, I explore how even the static body can be deceptive.

By juxtaposing unnatural materials, such as cling film and Sellotape, to create something as organic as the human body, I intend to highlight the tensions between the artificial and the authentic. The use of these materials is essential, serving as the outer layer for the figure. Their transparency allows the viewer to delve beyond the apparent pose and discover the deeper meaning encapsulated within the sculpture. Shapes and colours have been considered extensively. What lies beneath the skin reveals the essence to a person’s true nature.
