‘The Sailing the Fells project is a scheme for a new Learning Centre focused on Sailing at Fell Foot Park, Cumbria. The programme has been designed to allow children who are beginners, to sail for the first time.  The project aims to allow for the Lake District to become more accessible due to the impact of tourism in the National Park, such as the price increases in the area. The scheme collaborates with other sailing schools around Lake Windermere to create a sailing expedition. The learning centre proposal includes new formal teaching spaces for sailing, including boat simulators, in addition to the opportunity to sail on the Lake. Facilities for this include, changing rooms, showers, and boat storage. The Learning centre also allows for picturesque of the lake in the ‘Riverside Restaurant’, overlooking the sailing on the water.’
