My practice considers the life of the worm from a feminist perspective in order to challenge perceived hierarchies within the animal kingdom. I am inspired by Jacques Derrida and Charles Darwin’s attempts to elevate the worm to its earned status as a respected and vital part of nature. My art work embodies the feminist perspective, that all living beings, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, have value. I wish to draw attention to crucial role of the worm in maintaining soil health and the ecosystem's delicate balance. By sculpting worms in various forms, I intend to spark curiosity, inviting viewers to contemplate their own place within the natural world. The materials I employ, such as soil, highlight the earthiness of these beings.
